Show Your Pride With These 7 LGBTQ Charity Auctions
Benefiting LGBTQ Rights and Other Pride-Friendly Causes
June is bustin’ out all over, and you know what that means… It’s Pride Month! Show your pride and support LGBTQ rights by bidding on these gay-friendly Charitybuzz auction packages, many of which support Pride-friendly causes as well.
We’ve been fans of 2013’s Best Musical ever since it opened four years ago. Cyndi Lauper’s Tony-winning score will “raise you up,” while the show’s message of tolerance and acceptance never goes out of style. And neither do the show’s signature sequined high-heeled boots. Bid to win a pair signed by the Broadway cast and support the national theatre arts alliance Take It From the Top.
Have Neil Patrick Harris Record Your Voicemail
It’s not every day that you get the chance to bid on a former Oscar host. NPH will bring the same theatrical flair he brought to his Tony Award-winning role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch to record your outgoing voicemail message. The winning bid supports Woodshed Collective, one of the country’s premier immersive theatre companies.
Travel to Machu Picchu and Beyond
Looking for the perfect getaway? You can climb ev’ry mountain (or at least one of them) with this amazing 7-day luxury excursion in Peru. Proceeds support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
See Indecent on Broadway
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned To Drive) makes her Broadway debut with this play with music, based on the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance and its love story of two women working in a brothel. We’re hosting a trio of auctions for the play, benefitting the Transport Group, Playwrights Horizons, and Woodshed Collective.
Catch M. Butterfly in Its First Broadway Revival
This 1988 Tony Award-winning play about a French diplomat’s love for a male Peking opera singer has scheduled its first-ever Broadway revival, starring Clive Owen and directed by Tony winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King), for October. We’re offering two unique experiences for the occasion: Win four tickets and a meet-and-greet with Julie Taymor to support the Katonah Art Museum, or win a pair of tickets and dinner with playwright David Henry Hwang all while supporting the American Theatre Wing.
Coach (or Lunch) with Broadway Stars
Are you more “Sing out, Louise!” or “Ladies Who Lunch”? Broadway Sings for Pride is offering up a quartet of great experiences: Pick either a one-hour coaching session or lunch with either Broadway star Darius de Haas or Tony Award-winning actress Cady Huffman.
Show your true colors this month, support some fab causes, and celebrate Pride—all on charitybuzz.com.
